BIO: I am 26 years old. born and live in Tasmania,
Australia. I am engaged and have 2 kids, Zoe 5 and
Kasey 1.My fiances name is Cindy, 20, shes the best
thing thats ever happened to me(had to write that
incase she sees it).I've been into cars ever since i can
remember.
I've been buliding models since i was about 15. Models
i build are from stock original to very heavily modified
and totally custom. I love to build tv and movie cars. I
only just started using an air brush, using flocking and
baremetal foil a few months ago. Before all these
things became available for me i was starting to lose
interest in building but never stopped buying more. I
have about 73 unbuilt in boxes, 40 in need of tlc and
about 90 built ones in my collection. You can never have
too many though right? I am restoring a real 77' F350
custom truck. I've had it for about a year and a half, still
collecting parts for the v8 to go in. Im building 2 1:24
scale replicas of it, (an as is and an i wish). I think
these will be done way before it is. Drastic Plastics is
awesome, it's good to have someone to talk to that has
the same interests.

BIO: My favorite types of cars (and models) are showcars,
kustoms, and hot rods. Back in the 60's, when I was a
teenager, it was the golden age of model-building and
the heyday of the big names in custom car building -
Roth, Starbird, Barris, Winfield, the Alexander Brothers,
etc. The U.S.A. lived and breathed cars of all types and
makes. Like all good teenage boys I built tons of models
and then one day I found out about girls and quit. 35
years later I returned to building model cars and I now
own again just about every kit I owned back in the 60's
(plus far too many more)! The beauty of age is that you
get to relive your youth but this time with money! Our kids
are all grown up and my dear, understanding, and
tolerant wife encourages my hobby! I belong to the KC
Slammers Model Car Club in Kansas City and am their
webmaster. In addition, I plan and coordinate the
Kustom Kemps of America's Elden Titus International
Model Kemp Spectacular held annually on the last
weekend of July in Salina, Kansas. My modeling creed is
"If you can put metalflake paint and a bubble-top on it,
THEN you have sumpthin!". 'Nuff said right there!

Darryl Gassaway
BIO: I was born in 1943 in San Diego, CA and have
lived here all my life. I have been married since 1969
and have one son. I started building models when I
was about 9, airplanes, but switched to cars in the mid
50's. The first model car I ever built was a balsa wood
'32 Ford roadster a little while later plastic car kits
appeared and I was hooked. I built models until 1967
when I quit to find fame and fortune. In 1988 after
failing to find either I picked up an Auto World catalog
and I was back big time. Since that time I have built
models, promoted a major contest for 10 years, written
for both Scale Auto and Model Cars magazines as well
as having a monthly column in the now defunct AMS
newsletter. My area of interest in Hot Rods and
Customs mostly built in the traditional style. I plan to
keep building models and covering model car events
for Model Cars Magazine as long as I can. I love this
hobby for all it has given me and hope some day to be
able to give back even more than I have gotten from it.
